Funny Friday

Because there are a lot of people in California that take their furiends everywhere with them, this restaurant in Redondo Beach, California, planted a "dog stand."  This would be comprable to that of a "bike stand" 'per-say.'

Another summertime excursion - Kings Harbor - Redondo Beach Ca

We took a drive to Redondo Beach California and visited the pier - Kings Harbor. 

I really liked the art on the corner especially because there were tall shrubs which I really enjoy walking through.  Dad wouldn't stop the car.....

The cloudy day had some sparks of sunshine here and there.  Over all the weather was wonderful!

We walked along the way to some really huge rocks.  This old rusty thingy looks like an old boat slip no longer in use.

I really enjoyed the water and watching the little boats...

Dad tried to make me walk on this wall...... he must have lost a marble or two........ there was no way I would walk on it even for liver treats - way too scary!!!!

I saw someone deep in thought.  I hope he was contemplating what kind of treats to buy his precious doggy!!!

I got really close to this two legged furiend...... I almost got to touch it before snapping the picture!!!!

We kept walking a ways.... no bridge crossing for me today!

I tried to tell Dad that the rocks were ruining my mani and pedi!!!  Would he listen???

Dad!!!!!!! Here comes a furiend and my nails are starting to look scruffy!   DAD!!!!!!!!

I then came across this really cooooool chick on a yacht!  She really lives on it with her mommy!  My mom was talking to her mommy Ruth and found out that Millie likes to sit on the seat and do ride alongs with her mommy on the motorcycle!!!!! WOW!!!  Her mom gave us her email address and said she would email us some photos of Millie riding on the bike and wearing goggles!!!!!  When we get them I will share!!!!

A summer day excursion - Wildlife Sanctuary

We went to the Wildlife Sanctuary. It was really hot out that day!

Grandkid girly wanted me to be in charge of walking her.

We came across this really cool bird house....... someone said they thought it was a squirrel house???? Yikes run!

So grandkid girly and I went and walked with dad. 

She said we would be safe with dad!

OMD!  Then we really were glad we were walking with dad because the notice below said there was resent snake sightings! 

Were were there on July 18th!  Scary!!!!!!

We then decided to go look for the koi and water turtles...

Didn't find any on that side so we crossed the bridge.

  I wanted to jump in the water it was so hot!!!!

I didn't have a penny to drop in the wishing well.

So we kept walking to see what else we would discover.....

I wasn't quite sure what had dad's attention,

but whatever it was, he was pretty busy with it.....

I found the water turtle! He is swimming around! 

I then found a huge land turtle!!!!!

Then I found two more ginormous land turtles!  No! wait!  Those are furiends  - huh? Coming out of the public bathrooms!!!   BOL!!!!!!!

I came across a goat that had been rescued during the fires last year.

Mom and dad said I had to give a donation to the wildlife sanctuary because it helps to maintain the grounds and allows me to be able to come back and enjoy this place.  I was a bit upset because I couldn't have a coin to toss in the wishing well.  Oh well.... she's probably right anyway......

Remembering 9-11 and doing something about it - Share the Love

In Remembrance of September 11, 2001, Hailey and I will not be posting Flower Friday.  Instead we would like to share our Thank You to Everyone for being Hero's everyday.  This country is a fabulous place and we are thankful to the many that lend a helping hand to make it what it is each and every day.

Always remember that Love and Kindness go a long way in our everyday walks of life.  No matter what color someones skin is, no matter what tongue they speak, no matter what God they worship, no matter what $$$$$ sign they have next to their name.....  we ALL have one thing in common - WE ARE ALL HUMAN BEINGS and have the same right to enjoy this wonderful planet as one.

I entered the 'Most "EAR" resistible Contest' at Bentley and Lexus Page

Ok. So I figure that God's gift to me should very well be worth it's weight in gold. right?  Yup - It's my giganormous ears!!!  I've had to live with them all my life and listen to furiends and hoomans say what a cute gal I am - but those ear's are just ........  just what??? Just huge!

So I thought I would enter them (huge ears) in a contest for the "ear" resistible given by Bentley and Lexus.  So please be sure to VOTE for me by visiting their page and following the rules!  You too can enter the contest with your favorite "ear"resistible photo!  You don't have to have HUGE ears - just ears for listening in or something funny!!!!   I am sooooo excited as this is my first contest!  It's not winning that counts but participation is the PAWSOMEIST!!!!!!!!!!

Flower Friday 9/4/2009

Some pretty little flowers I snapped while on a walk one day.  Wishing all my furiends a happy and safe Labor Day weekend! The grandkid boy is coming for two days! I am so looking forward to seeing him again! I hope the grandkid girl can come too! They are so much fun to be around. They make me laugh all day with their silly antics!

Yikes! The Chupacabra is caught????

It really does exist! Maybe! The famed chupacabra has apparently been found, and it's a Texan. Or at least it was. The beast is now dead, but news of its capture near Blanco, Texas, inspired Bigfoot-sized searches. Lookups on "chupacabra" surged a whopping 571%, and related queries on "what does chupacabra mean" also roared. (For the record, its rough translation is "goat sucker.") The find also inspired renewed interest in the equally notorious Montauk Monster.

Jerry Ayer, owner of Blanco Taxidermy School, has possession of the mythical beast's body. According to CNN, the animal was discovered by one of Ayer's students. The student had "placed poison...to catch an unidentified animal that had gotten into a family member's barn." Little did the student know the animal in question was (maybe) the chupacabra.

In the video from CNN (which is pretty gross, so beware), Ayer shows off some of the unusual features of the animal, including abnormally long legs and teeth. It looks a bit like the world's ugliest (and meanest) dog.

Of course, this is hardly the first time someone has claimed to have captured the chupacabra. In years past, brave souls have spotted it in places ranging from Russia to Maine to the Philippines. Often the animal is spotted by folks who conveniently forget to snap a photo.

Not so this time. Ayer says he plans to preserve the animal and then donate it to a local museum so it can be enjoyed by others. As the taxidermist puts it, the beast is "a tremendous conversation piece." Sort of like the Mona Lisa or a really stellar collection of garden gnomes.

Thanks Siku Marie, White Dog!!

Thank you Siku Marie! We are honored and very excited to accept this award and challenge! It is our very 1st Award!!!! Well, I unlike you, do not have the manners that would make my mommy proud. You put a tray of hamburgers and hot dogs in front of me and they will definitely be gone in a flash! I guess this may come from my past chapter in life. Even when I eat now, I take a bit of my food and walk away to eat it. I know that know body is going to steal it any longer, but sometimes it's hard to teach an old dog new tricks! (teee heee I made a funny!). I have gotten better since I have been living with Mom and Dad. Now when they sit down for a meal I don't stare at them - I let them eat in peace.

Here's my story of stolen food. It's really quite funny as I look back and think about it..... Last April I went with my human sister, brother in law and nephew to eat at the local hamburger stand. Since the weather permited, they ate outside so that I got to sit with them. They even ordered me a flame broiled cheese~burger without the clothes on it! Yum~o, yum~o!!! Was it the best! Shortly thereafter sister got a phone call to go see an apartment. She was so excited (and a slow eater) that she "figured" she would finish it later. Since I was with them I had to go with them. One problem. She had to leave me in the car because she was seeing an apartment and didn't want them to think I was hers. Well, you can figure out the rest! When she came back to the car, let's just say she said every alphabet in the english language. But there I was witht the cheeseburger paper in my mouth! i couldn't hid it, so i did what I do best ~ I smiled ear to ear!!!! It was funnier cause my lil' guy was laughing so hard he almost peed in his pants!!!!! I wish I had a camera!!!!!!
